Had a good day today. Got a 54 TC Hawken percussion off the gun sight that makes you broker. It showed up today. Looks really good on the outside, red on the inside. Started working on it and it is cleaning up nice. On Wednesday a guy I have bought from before got ahold of me to see if I would be interested in some TC Hawkens. Of course I said yes! Well he had 3 old flintlocks,.45, .50 and a .54! All in nice to very nice shape! I picked them up today after work. Now I have to figure out which one I like best!

WHY? :dunno: :D
such are dreams made of!

Using those four in the photo, you could “mix-‘n-match” the parts to make a great looking rifle.
Then sell off the remaining three.

Top is the 45, it's the one they actually shot a little. Second one down is the 50, very little use. Third down is the 54. It is a kit gun. It would really be nice if someone that knows what they are doing was to refinish it. Shot very little also. The outside of the cap lock is really nice on the outside and the bore is going to be "good" after a little more work. Lands are perfect, grooves need a little more work.
