I've wanted a wheellock carbine for some time now. I like the TRS paddlebutt, but would need to find someone to build it. I've also heard the lock isn't that good. I wonder if a Bolek lock would fit? I'm also looking at Old Guard pieces(pics 2&3). They are .45cal and I really wanted .62 just to make it easy for me since I have a few others & could use the same kit. 4th pic is a screen grab of a style I like. So far the builder names I've come across are retired or not taking orders. Thoughts anyone?

I've read that Leonard Day's son has made a few. Not sure if he is taking new orders. Does anyone have contact information for him as I have a Bolek lock and would like to get a pistol made. Thanks.

I am 90% sure that last gun is an Armin Koenig build, but he is not currently making guns and when he does, he does not make them to order.

The other one I know of is Rafał Ziółko. He made the Capnball guns. He is on facebook but I do not know if he is taking new orders.
I have two Rafal Zoilko wheellock pistols which I purchased from him within the last year. So I believe he is still taking orders. Takes about 3 months to get one built. They are excellent! But be advised that getting one shipped from Poland and imported into the US is VERY expensive! Almost the cost of the pistol itself and complicated. US Customs wants to treat them as a "firearm".

That’s actually a pretty good turn around time! Good to hear. Yeah, customs seems like a pain from what I have looked into.

Wow, that's a nice one! Rafał Ziółko.View attachment 239055
I really like the straighter stock of the one he replicated. I think the original is in the Vienna army museum. I have collected a bunch of paddle stock carbine photos and museum information and they seem to range from basically straight stocks, to almost petronel angled stocks.

I've sent a message thru his facebook page, but haven't received a response. He may just be busy. Can you pm me his contact info. Thanks.
