French guns are my main interest.the shortest barreled gun I've built as of late had a 51" barrel. The rifle has a 28".....

Larry Zones make the castings he is up in years and in talking to Tim (R.E.Davis) he has been trying to buy the business to no avail. The early Germanic lock is the one that I used for my Jaeger which is on hold. I brought the last one at Dixon's gun shop.

I read in the latest "Muzzle Blasts" that the R.E. Davis co has been sold to the Log Cabin Shop.

I called Davis(before the Log Cabin sale) for a Germanic lock part a while back. They said that Pete Allan has the molds for that lock and others, and he is having health problems. That is why some of them are back-ordered. Maybe they can sort out the supply problem and get things moving again.

The lock works fine. It has been a few years ago. I don't even remember. The rifle is in the safe, and I am not shooting it. I guess it doesn't matter if I needed the part or not. ;)
