What was the retail price on the T/C cougars back when they were being made??

According to my 1986 Gun Digest, the T/C Hawken Cougar had a list price of $350 .... compared to $275 for the standard T/C Hawken percussion. Apparently this limited production model was introduced in 1982 and ended about 1986 or 1987. It's kind of a collector's gun, so a lot of shooting will diminish its resale value
 
I was on gun broker today and saw a few listed $700 + range, one had the box that was list I think are $900 + nobody was bidding on them though.
 
I have bought all of them I have ever seen in person, the cheapest was 450.00 the most expensive was 800.00 new in box. If the wood is nice I’d be interested in buying it.
