Getting everything ready for a trip to the range. .45 calibre CVA Penna. rifle kit that was given to me many, many years ago. I plan on trying some .40 calibre conicals and denim for a patch, just for grins and giggles. Once tried that combo in my T/C with poor results. Probably have the same poor results with the CVA, but who cares? Can't say I didn't try it at least one time.

Got some new lead in the shop, and casted about 12 lbs of .454 round balls for shooting this fall and winter. Got to wonder sometimes why we do what we do for black powder? I for one love the aspect of the doing it yourself and the history behind the black powder shooting. Keep on shooting brothers and sisters!

I really enjoy doing the little “chores” that are needed, so that we can participate in our sport/hobby.

Running Ball is fun. When I took 4 hrs today and cast up a nice amount for my .40’s today…I really enjoyed it. It was a nice time to think about things, plan a little bit, dream about past times…past hunts. It’s a soothing hobby…

I was at this antique mall and came across a smoothbore pistol! I found thier method of repairing the wood interesting ! On the belly of the pistol you can see where they pounded some nails from up top down to help hold the cracking wood together!
