They are still worn today by some European military and they signify the Officer of the Day/Duty Officer.

I thought i knew everything about BoB but i dont recall that scene. Can you give a little background on it?
I think this is the episode Points, because it’s after Germany surrendered. The American soldier is talking to a German MP, who is discussing the best and worst places he’d been deployed.
