I do a little leather work and trade my stuff for other stuff. Made a possible bag and pouch and got this. I can not find anything about it. I have other black powder guns that are fairly new can someone help me out ?

The 1849's are all .31's, Ted

The similar .36 cal Model1862's are on an 1849 frame with a stepped cylinder, much like a Model 1860.
 
Agreed, the spring goes up on the replicas. Originals don’t have a spring but the groove is cut short so it touches the screw on the left side. The spring was a later improvement.

Yes Guess I experienced a senior moment. I have a '62' Colt and neglected to observe the lack of a step on the cylinder needed for the navy calibre. Thanks for your answer.
