If I remember correctly someone on here said that uberti once set the standard for BP revolvers, but recently made some changes that were not great for quality and the two were comparable now. This is third hand info, I’ll find the post and link it here.
Here it is: Uberti vs Pietta, Not the same old, same old.....This could be news.

"Traditions" is just a seller of Pietta products. Uberti and Pedersoli also make 1858 Rem. I own 2 2019 Piettas 58s that will shoot match winning National championship scores when I do my part. These 58 factory guns keep up with my Custom built match 58 with only a trigger tune. Considering my side by side evaluation of Ubertis vs. Pietta at DGW in 2019 including caliper measurements of bore vs. cylinder Pietta Colts and 58s won for match use. "Pretty boy gun" or display gun issues were not considered. Would not bother with current made Ubertis at this time for a possible match gun...c

Pietta does a great job on the Remington style revolvers. My only gripe with Pietta is they just can't seem to get the grip shaped properly on the Colt type revolvers.

That, and the screws they use are soft, but that should not be a problem if you don't over-tighten them.

Bootlegger - I've had one Pietta Remington for over twenty years and two more since 2011 (post CNC). I enthusiastically suggest that you get one. I use each of mine regularly and like them just a little more with every outing. Ima Colt guy too but darn - sure do like me a Pietta Rem.

I own both, Pietta quality has improved considerably in recent years, especially internally, & the last few percussion revolvers I've purchased were of that brand...As others have mentioned, the opposite seems to be the case with the Uberti guns. My biggest complaint about the Pietta's are the exposed markings all over the guns, which makes them less aesthetically pleasing to the eye than the Uberti's...At least to me anyway. Of course it also depends on what particular revolver model you're interested in as well, they each have different offerings in that regard.
