It would seem to me that putting it in the back, if you have a bell, the cold would enter the front as well as the fabric wall. If you put out in the front it would be difficult, and dangerous, getting in and out. Somewhere in the center would take away drastically from the limited floor space.

Here's my stove on the right front looking at the tent.

Its just a small sheet metal stove I used when packing in elk camp. About 8X8X16 I have cooked many a meal on it on top of the Big Horns elk hunting. Not PC but the legs fold up out of the way for easy packing. Will heat a 8X10X5 in very cold weather.

TRIN, I had a four panel wedge with a 4 foot bell. I ran my pipes as in the bottom photo (second option) in Loyalist Dave's pics. I also had my uprights vary. I had a hinged ridge pole with 2(7') sections and uprights at the ends, without the stove. When I used the stove, I moved the rear upright 2.5' toward the front with a separate pin hole so I had more room in the bell. I was the only occupant in cold weather, which made it simpler for me. More room for the stove, it's fuel and room for me to work thee. Also, the most important tool or using a stove A FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!!! A Must.
