I purchased a Chambers York kit in July and am just going to start the project. I taped a broomstick handle in the barrel channel to control warping, but it warped somewhat anyway! How do I inlet a barrel when there is warpage in the barrel channel?

You might try bending the wood back. Soak the wood in water and make yourself a jig that slightly overbends it from the resting position you want for it. Clamp it in place and let it dry. See how that looks, and repeat as necessary. You can add steam to help it if the cold water clamp doesn't quite do the trick for you.

I did the cold water clamping for my current build when the MC developed something of a gap between it and the barrel. Now it's just fine.

I have posted this before; I have built a ton of bows, mostly osage and most needed heat correction.

I had a precarve shipped back to me without the barrel and had a 20 degree dog in in the forestock when I got it back.

I heated the barrel up to almost too hot to touch, put it in the barrel channel and zip tied stock tightly to the barrel. I heated the zip tied portion and barrel with a paint stripping heat gun to the just can touch temperature then let things cool off, When I cut the zip ties there was no more warp in my wood.

This wouldn't work on a square stock blank, too much wood to heat.
