Looking for an 1860 style reproduction by asm, uberti , pietta etc.
I have some new toy money set away for it.

44 caliber meaning 450 diameter or bigger because of unmentionable accessory.

Will likely be doing transaction with a personal check. Not going to be trying a money order.

And figurin on looking for offers till the end of the month and making my purchase then

Just trying to help you out and show you where you can find a new 1860 repo but if you're not interested in that route how about this: Here's a brand new Pietta, unfired Hartford Army steel frame 1860 in the box it came in and I'll even throw in a slim Jim holster. Only $500. I can wait until the end of the month for your decision.
