Made by Mark B Burnham, these measures are well-regarded for accurately measuring both powder and shot. These were handmade by Burnham in the 1950s and 60s, this particular one in 1964. Both the measure and valve gates turn freely, but the surface is quite dark. Measure handles 10 to 110 grains of powder or 1 to 4 drams of shot.
Measure is attached to a small horn which I do not think is original; previous owner MacGyvered most of his kit with modest skills. I’m hopeful the buyer of this will transfer it to a nicer finished horn or maybe a shot pouch. New shot charger heads are around $70 (if you can find one in stock), but are not easily adjustable nor do they handle either shot or powder –and they also do not have the cool novelty of an uncommon vintage piece.
Asking $70 shipped in the lower 48 United States. PM for details.
