I have always thought a vent pick holder made a lot of sense on any flintlock, but I really havent seen them frequently except on customs, probably more frequently on southern rifles. I will be completing my Kibler Colonial (which will be pretty plain jane) soon, and am considering putting one on it. Are the vent pick holders more of a regional detail? would it be out of place on my rifle? thoughts?

Hi,
It would be fine. A couple of staples under the cheek piece and you are done. No big deal. They are not a regional feature. Pennsylvanian gunsmiths were attaching vent picks when those southern makers were still in diapers.
