Just a couple of shots to show the finished stock. I used cabinet scrapers and a minimal amount of sand paper. I did use some cherry stain as I don't have the patience for it to darken naturally! I'm ok with the carving even though there are plenty of mistakes. I can't seem to do a smooth curve--or a straight line, for that matter! I will start draw filing the barrel and lock this weekend.

Looking good. Never done a cherry stock but have worked a lot of cherry over the years, floors, furniture, millwork. It don't take as long as you think or darken, just needs sunlight. I do love the carving too.
