I've had requests for more pistol shooting........ Trying shot in a percussion pistol...
Would that have made a good self defensive tactic in 1840?

Your assumption is correct.Fun stuff! I’m not a shot shooter (yet), but I wonder what keeps shot from just rolling out of the barrel? I assume there is some sort of tight fitting wad that you push down after the shot?
#7.5 shot is all I had on hand at that time. I'll probably try it again with some #5 or #6 shot in the near future. That was cool Mark. What about some bigger shot like buckshot.
Yes, I stuffed it with muslin patch at the 1:42 minute mark. That kept all that shot stuffed in the barrel well. Thanks for watching....Fun stuff! Man...I feel for you fellows overseas not being able to shoot anyway you wish. Thanks for watching these wacky fun silly videos...I have always wanted to hunt small game close up with a smoothbore pistol but it is not allowed here.
Marks video demonstrate to me it could work which only makes it much harder on me stuck on this bureaucratic island

I failed to mention the distance on this one...I was shooting 20-23 yards away. Thanks for watching....Did he say at what distance he was shooting ? Or did I miss it?

I can only go by the pop fizzling from the full cans. I'm guessing it is a 4 foot wide pattern. Sort of wish I'd set up cardboard behind the cans now. It was fun though.....I enjoyed that video Mark! I'm curious to know how big the pattern was at that distance?
