Afternoon gents. Last weekend I took my Traditions Hawken Woodsman apart and noticed the set trigger no longer worked. Even after completely disassembling the rifle and cleaning and lubing everything it still doesn't "set" The front trigger works fine however but I'm wondering is there someway to adjust the set trigger??

I also noticed it was a booger bear getting the barrel seated to the rear enough to get the wedge pin to engage properly.

I'm guessing maybe you did not loosen the tang screw, that can make it hard to get the barrel back in. If that's not the case, you may need to do a little inlet clean up.
Yes there are adjusting screws, the front screw adjusts the relationship of the set trigger to the notch on the front trigger. Could be it is adjusted too far out so the set trigger is not engaging the front trigger. Also, there is a thin wire spring at the front of the triggers that holds the front trigger down. Could be you knocked that out so it is not holding that trigger down. I suggest taking the triggers back out and observing the operation of them.

You can probably fix your set trigger by first, unscrewing the small screw that is between the triggers about 4 or 5 full turns.
After doing this, you should be able to pull the rear "set trigger" and have it hold in the cocked position.

Once this is done, screw that little screw back in until the rear trigger is released and snaps forward. Then, unscrew the little screw 1 full turn.
After doing this, your set triggers should work and they will be adjusted to the right setting.
