I recently purchased used and this is not the example I am looking for. Lock fitment is inconsistent at best. I have had the hammer drop from the half cock position and also not
maintain full cock. I have not attempted to correct or make any adjustments. Ramrod seems to be oversized. Bore looks great, I just put a patch puller in to help reflect some light while taking the photo.

If interested, remove the lock. Look to see if there is a spring loaded screw that bears down on the sear. The screw passes through the tumbler. Turn the screw counterclockwise a half turn. See if that allows half cock and full cock to work correctly.

It almost looks like lead wire or solder wrapped around something.

These were very popular kits. The lock is probably binding. Might need a little work on the inletting. By the looks of the butt plate to stock finish.

This is my only experience with traditions so I’m not sure. I recently purchased it used and it’s a real dog.
