Touch Hole Bushing sets to far in barrel

I had a rebore on my Lyman Trade rifle from50-54 caliber. Now my touch hole bushing threads further in the barrel and takes up half of my patent breech channel. Maybe the "stop" was milled out when the barrel was rebored? How can I fix this for better ignition? Thanks for replies!

Thread a hole in scrap metal. Screw your liner into the scrap to hold it while you file off the excess length.
If you need it to "stop" you can buy a liner with a flair at the outside face. This would require a slight chamfer of the outward edge of the hole.

There is no stop on the inside. Usually the outside has some type of recess the vent liner rim will set it causing it to stop - not always though. Some vent liners can screw in below the outside flat of the barrel - depending on what type of liner it is. If you can, take a good picture of the barrel flat where the liner hole is and also a good picture of the liner itself out of the barrel. Most likely you will just have to file some of the liner off on it's inside to keep it flush with the inside of the barrel. What we need to see is how thick your barrel wall is and how many threads you have left in that wall.
