Been hunting metallic cartridge rifles +60 and purchased my first muzzle loader today to take advantage of the extra week of deer season. Purchased a used CVA Wolf in 50 Cal. Know nothing about this rifle nor muzzle loading in general. Rifle came scoped, but no Owners Manual, ect. I have downloaded a general Users Manual and will start there.
I will post some general questions in the General Forum. Thanking you guys in advance for any assistance, suggestions, encouragement

I have been with the old front stuffers my whole life, 70 plus years and sometimes still feel like a noob. Learn something every day, especially on this site.

Welcome to the forum. :)
We have tons of information about shooting muzzleloaders here but this is a Traditional Muzzleloading site and the only kind of muzzleloaders we talk about are the old fashioned ones like the guns that were made before 1866.

What that means is, we probably can't help you a lot with your modern in-line gun.

My suggestion is, follow this link and join the forum you will end up at. They specialize in modern, in-line muzzleloaders there.

This doesn't mean we don't want you to come here too. Who knows? Maybe you will find a sidelock muzzleloader that is made to shoot patched round balls? (Patched roundballs cost WAY less than the specialized modern bullets your gun will need to shoot well. Patched roundballs also kill as good if not better than the modern expensive bullets. Their only limitation is, they tend to run out of energy beyond 120 yards or so.)

Welcome from Rhode Island. Great group of folks here with a wealth of knowledge and information. Ask questions, read and enjoy. Art
