Do you mean, what is the time zone where the big computer that runs this place lives or, are you wondering how to set your time zone so it shows the time that it was when someone posted something using your local time?

For instance, your post was made at 3:45 AM (my time) according to the time listing shown on your post.

I don't know if you really were up and posting at 6:45 your time or not but because right now Indiana is 3 hours ahead of my time zone that's what it would have been.

Anyway, if you want to set your MLF time zone so it matches the time where you live, hold your cursor over the image of a little man in the upper right hand area of your screen.

In the little window that opens, choose PREFERENCES.

That will open a black window where you can set your local time zone (at the top of the window).

There are a bunch of other things you can turn on or off so while your there, you might review them to see if you like the settings.

This is the place where you can turn of or off the advertising and the "side bar" advertising.

If you change something like your time zone or anything else be sure to poke the "SAVE CHANGES" button at the bottom of the window. If you don't, your changes won't be saved so the next time you log onto the forum, your settings will be back to what they were before you "fixed" them.

I don't know where the big computer that runs the forum is located so I don't know what time zone it is in. I think it used to be in California but it could be just about anywhere.

Thanks Zonie. It helps for someone to watch over me. My post was after 11:00AM EDT. that's why I was curious about the time. That would put me about 8 hours off which does not even match up with GMT or ZULU time.
    Thanks again

If it is, she has forgotten about it by now like the documents she "misplaced" while Bill was in office.:D

Thought the forum ‘time zone’ was pre 1865?

I know time zones came about because of the railroads, but was there time zones in 1865??

If that is the case then this forum must be on sundial and what ever you set your wind up pocket watch to. The basic time is GMT, or now called CUT. You can go to your User Control panel under preferences and Change it to the time zone you are in so it will me more sense. I have to do that/
