Is that pitting on the hammer and on the edge of the snail?

Yes the finish is worn off there no deep or serious pits. I will get a close up of it for you.

Yes. I think the prior owner cleaned the barrel well hence its great shape but didnt clean the residue around the hammer as well as they could have. I shot this one a couple of times and cleaned it very well including the removal of nipple . I always use some anti-seize grease on the nipple threads. If i kept this gun i would touch the hammer up with some bluing. I have some bluing and can touch it up if anyone wants that.
 
It doesn't look like a kit gun to me, and I've got a couple of them - a hawken and a renegade. Both were kits. Damn, this is tempting, but I don't need another...
