Who can start hunting today? While a long standing tradition in the UK for the 12th, there is usually one or more shoots in the US to commemorate today. These are driven pheasant and/or partridge shoots in the English Tradition, but done on the 15th usually. This year one club declared a cancellation due to weather. 94 degrees and raining. The postponement is until Sept 15 th. Another month is torture when you’ve been anticipating today with enthusiasm. We’ll at least my pair of percussion shotguns are well cleaned and ready to go and my equipment is organized.

Our big kickoff is the 1st weekend of September…family Dove Hunt to Eastern Colorado. It marks the beginning of hunting for the rest of the year, for us.
