As a new member to the forum I want to say thanks for all the information and advice that you share.
I recently sent an early TC Hawken 50 Ser# 30xxx back to S&W under the TC warranty, S&W paid shipping both ways but wouldn’t fix the broken sear and main spring guide rod. Stating that the rifle was unsafe as the bore was out of spec!(It measures .500 & .507)
You folks made suggestions and I followed up by getting the early sear and guide rod from E Bay and repaired it myself.
So happy the old Hawken is not a wall hanger.
The enclosed photos show off hand shooting results at 50 yds, with patched ball and lubed maxiball, 70 grains of powder. The two lower right are first two standing , ball and maxiball.
The second two are standing with support from a vertical post, ball and maxiball , center.
I’m, thanks to y’all, a happy camper!
thanks
Brad
