I started a Lyman Great Plains pistol kit. These can make a nice pistol if a few extra steps are taken so having done a few there are some points that need touched on. Old pistols have trimmer lines and more curves. But I ran into a problem that I couldn’t except, the lock and bolster didn’t line up. Not only does this leave a large gap, the hammer doesn’t line up with the nipple. I called Lyman customer service to explain the issue. They didn’t have any kit stocks but offered a finished stock. It arrived today and clearly will work well once the tang and barrel is seated back just a bit. Thanks to Lyman for good service!

Too bad once all muzzleloading guns/kits/parts are sold, Lyman is out of the muzzleloading business forever. Don't believe me? Call them.
