Just have to put in a plug for Tentsmiths, creators of all manner of historic tents:
http://tentsmiths.com/

We've owned two of there models for years, a "1780 American" wedge and one of the big "Museum Wedges." The latter required some repairs after nearly 20 years of use. Tentsmiths repaired and shipped this heavy tent speedily and at ZERO cost to us!
Peter and Deborah Marques stand by their excellent products, and are a pleasure to deal with as well.
If you're in the market for a period tent, that's the place to go...!

Ditto to quality makers and they stand behind their products. I have two of their wedges. Both have been sent back after lots of years and use. They replaced all the peg loops and resewed another spot we hadn't noticed. They told us they do that for any tent purchased, used but NOT abused. Any normal worn deteriated parts they'll fix. If I ever need another tent or tarp; that's who I'll get it from!

Their version of the Whelen tent is an excellent copy of Whelen's early 20th century "improved lean-to" design. If I was going to go that modern I'd special order a Royce Tent as found in Camping and Woodcraft, by Horace Kephart, the 1927 edition. Much easier to set up.
