After reading several threads about the Ted Cash cappers for capping revolvers with - I jumped off and ordered a couple to see if I wanted to use something like that or not. I do use an in-line capper for my rifles (Traditions) but they were too wide to fit in the nipple pocket on an 1858 Remington New Army.
The new cappers came in today (20 round capacity "NEW REDESINGNED" that is advertised to fit all revolvers.
Right off the bat and out of the package - the loading port was cut too small. The caps (#10 Remington) were too tall to make it through the port.
So - break out the files, open up the loading gate, files the burrs off the sides so a cap would load into the capper.
Both were equally mis-cut and left with rough sharp edges.
After some Micro filing - the capper was loadable.
It does seem to work OK, it's final actual usefulness will be determined at the next rangle outing.
