Hello all,
I just purchased one at a local flea market in excellent condition, 50 cal. flintlock. Took it out today and it performed well 70 gr. 3F, .495 round ball and .015 patch. I believe these had a round ball twist 1:60 ? Was rifling depth the same as the Hawken and Rengade ? Looking forward to our Flintlock only deer season after Christmas.
Thanks

That's a good gun. Slow twist barrel for patched round ball, as that was what the PA late flintlock season required at the time. Now it just says "single projectile" which includes a lot of other stuff...but I'd stick with PRB or maybe Hornady PA Conicals in that gun.

I use 70 grains in my .50 and it's the load it likes. I don't have a .495" mold and cast .490" ball. I use a bit thicker patch but I think you have it nailed.
