We're looking at organizing some postal table matches for our 4-H kids, but I have no experience with a table match. From what I see, the bench rest looks fairly easy to make, but I wanted to see if there's a standard plan for building these things. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

@Splitear, one of the joys of this type of informal shooting is the wide variation of plans out there. It's also one of the frustrations. Most tables will be portable with the capability to fold up. Quite a challenge to be portable and stable for such shooting. In other words, no standard plan. Most tables seem to be T shaped. The top of the T has to accommodate the multi position rest. The long post of the T has to be long enough for the rifle to rest on the on the platform while supported by the shooter. The butt is not supported by a rest. I'm not sure of all the rules and designs of tables out there.
