Good Morning all from frosty though sunny Wellington,
I was wondering, if anyone knows what the patent refers to on this early percussion lock . The engraving on the lock plate has ''Sea Monsters'' as found on Manton locks making me wonder if it is one of his, sold to another in the trade ?
I found out so far, that '' (James) Sykes & Son, Oxford, were in business from 1823 - 1830 .
May
be the patent refers to the different hammer stricking area compared to the Manton ?
KInd Regards
