After having two CW reenactors bring me their rifles with a stuck brush: one stripped the threads, the other was cheap 'pressed on type', I simply shot them out (after raming them all the way down.
Apparently this Jinxed me and I snapped a wooden rod with a brush on it during the return stroke. ..I was able to pull that one out with a vice BUT it made me think; "Why am I using a copper brush in the first place?"

Well, my answer to myself was "Because the sell them and others say to use them...But, there is a Much More Better Way!"

I bought pulled out some of that Tow I use for starting fires and started using that Tow Worm that has been sitting in my kit for 'looks'.
I Never stuck a brush down any of my muzzleloaders again...and the Tow can be cleaned and reused over and or again.

P.S.
Glad you got that prickled bugger out!
