Had a stuck ball in a rifle once. Broke 3 rods trying to pull it in every conceivable manner.
Took it home and screwed in an aluminum range rod and put a slide hammer on it. (the kind you use for pulling dents) it popped right out like nothing. it was the sudden shock not the force that did it. Much like a impact wrench works in opposite.
Always carry range rod in truck from then on.

Now... traditionally, the putting powder in behind it or un breaching the barrel would be the way it was done if it could not be pulled with a rod.

Great job! I will have to remember that trick. Course I will never have a stuck ball! (in my dreams)

You are very welcome. I do hope the information helps. Worked like magic.
Even though i carry the modern range rod, it would not have helped me in the situation i described. The ball was so incredibly stuck. ( Put the sprue in wrong ) it was the slide hammer that actually did it. Was so easy, i was shocked. Popped right out.
