Armi Jager Zouave .58 cal, 1974. Likely unfired until I put 20 rounds through it. This is a nice piece, well fitted and finished. It’s a 33” twist so it needs load development (heavier/longer bullet?) I want to be up front about that. $450.00 shipped CONUS.

Please ad a photo of the muzzleloader along with a card or piece of paper showing your screen name and the date of the photo, thanks.

I am so sorry! I can’t believe I forgot it. I’ll resolve tonight as soon as I am home.

Hi. Someone who knows better than me will be along shortly but lighter loads/heavier bullets is what I am told.

Hi,

Is there a 'common wisdom' on best load for this rifle?
Start with 42 grains 3 f and conventional .577 mini (I prefer the Lyman mold). The lee ash can Minnie works well with some of those euroarms barrels. Add three grain intervals until they group. Try different lubes from wonder lube to beeswax and olive oil mix.

Do you remember if when the hammer is at half cock that the hammer face is down close to the nipple where it helps keep the cap on the nipple, or is the hammer well back when at half-cock?

Here is a pic of half cock. It is down low to keep cap on hammer and definitely needs full cock to put nipple on/take off.
