I’m thinning out a few of my many projects. First up is a Green Mountain Drop in Barrel for a TC Renegade. I had this one re-bored to a .45 Caliber by Bobby Hoyt and it is unfired since Mr. Hoyt finished the job. I asked him for the most accurate rifling and rate of twist for a .45 caliber round ball rifle that he recommends. This rifling has a narrow land with wide grooves, a 1 in 56 Twist and I have no doubt that it’s going to be very accurate.. The barrel also has a Lyman 17AMI .494 front sight with one insert. No rear sight as I had a ladder peep sight on my bench Renegade.
No damage, rust or pitting, all threads are clean and intact, I would estimate the bluing at 95%
This was originally a Green Mountain .40 caliber Renegade drop in. I believe it will also fit the TC Hawken stock that has the 1” .54 cal barrel channel and a few other TC models with the 1” octagon barrel
Now a GM , Hoyt .45 caliber, 1” across the flats , 27” barrel + 1” for the patent breech-plug, 1 in 56 rate of twist.
