The smoke from wildfires in Alberta drifted to south western Ohio, sunrise was not as dramatic as Neil's photo but visible smokiness.

Last year at the Northeaster Primitive Rendezvous in Newark Valley, NY, the sunset looked much like that. the next morning many of us were coughing and sneezing and rubbing our eyes as the smoke (that had been West of us) came over the area. Western wildfires were the cause.
