My eyes keep getting worse so I put a new front sight on the target rifle. I used a 1/8 thick piece of Ivory so the old eyes can see it through the buckhorn rear sight. 002.jpg

That looks great. Good idea.
I've been thinking about changing the front sight on one of my rifles. So far, I have only painted the back of the front blade with white nail polish.

Such a great idea. I’m in the same boat as you…back row left side, by the oars.

I just cannot see the sights like I “Used to Could”…

Great information, much appreciated.

For buckhorns, you want to get glasses with a power that is about +1.00 diopters stronger than your distance vision, and suddenly you can see your sights again. For aperture sights, you want +0.50 stronger than distance. You'll thank me later.
