I'm glad I had a pistol built by Matt years ago to match my rifle in caliber .50 and in wood grade.
Is your barrel swamped?I've had this TVM .40 for years and it has been extremely accurate and reliable. The barrel is a "B" or "C" wgt. GM, just not sure which. Weight is just over 8 lbs and balance is superb.
Here's a 25 yard target that shows the accuracy. Still excellent at 100 yards.

Yes it is swamped. I haven't seen swamped barrels listed in the Green Mountain site for quite a while.
This is my 40cal Tennessee with a 36” Rice barrel and late Ketland lock. Chambers locks are my favorite, never had a problem with one! This gun is super accurate!!!!
Damn you people!!! Couldn't sleep thinking about my SMR after I ordered it!!! Was just getting back to a normal routine and this comes up!!!

That's a very nice looking "transitional" rifle. I will predict that one day after you sell it that sale will be one of your regrets. Naturally, I think a Brown Bess is a great musket, but mine has not driven me away from my rifles.
Is the wood on this rifle their "Deluxe" or "Presentation" grade?
I paid for Deluxe but i think i got the better end of the deal.
I paid for the deluxe, just couldn’t justify the $250 more for “Presentation”. We’ll see what happens.
Here is my TVM Southern Mountain Rifle. .50 cal., 39 inch barrel, all browned metal, premium maple stock. I treated myself to this about 16 years ago when I got a long-awaited promotion on my job. Shot quite a few PA deer with it. Very fast lock and very accurate. By looking at prices, I would say this would cost twice as much now as when I ordered it.
I know man I love it dearly. It's a beautiful rifle and it shoots great, but I have a better rifle I like to use for hunting, and for my Roger's Rangers kit I need a Bess. So here I am, parting with a piece of art out of necessity.

Yeah I just posted it to the Buy/sell/trade forum as well. Overall length is 58, barrel is 42, LOP is 14.
BTW is that you doing cowboy action shooting in your pic? If so that's crazy cool man!
