I've got a .40 with a 34" A-profile barrel. I'm vaguely interested in whether I could find a .36 cal that I could swap. I realize the odds are smal and that some work would need to be done to match it to the stock. It might not be worth it, but I'm curious.

Not to mention, but one maker's A swamped profile may not be the same as another maker's A swamped profile. Could be be someone's A profile after a busy week or so with a draw file.

@tnlonghunter, Who made your 40 caliber barrel? You may be able to go to that barrel maker and get the barrel you want. Just don't expect to find one to drop in.

The only way I cam see that happening is a custom barrel. Just have to figure if it’s worth the cost.
I guess a liner could be installed as well, keeping the original barrel.
Not much difference between a 36 and 40.
