I’m seeking a knowledgeable, competent, able and properly equipped lock builder to assemble, tune and test a lock assembly for a 1742 double bridled Brown Bess flint lock, using all castings/parts, springs and screws supplied from The Rifle Shoppe. This would require machine work, as well as spring tempering and hardening where needed, to build a reliable, smooth and dependable lock. I’m planning to build an early Bess long land pattern musket just as historically correct and accurate as possible, also using only parts supplied from TRS in Oklahoma. They have the necessary parts in stock, but tell me I would wait 4-6 months to have them assemble a lock for me. I’ve put out inquiry’s to persons I’ve been directed to ask, but have thus far come up empty handed. Please only reply if you’re very familiar with all that’s needed to properly assemble this lock from raw castings/pieces. I would very much appreciate your cost for labor, along with the time to completion (from the time you receive all parts required. I look forward to hopefully finding someone with the time, talent and interest required...
