Ok national holidays are here. Many will wheel out their cannons for a holiday salute. Has anyone experimented with chemical additives to create color for after dark salutes. I have seen one or two videos of night time salutes in Europe with color in the muzzle flash. For instance table salt burns yellow, boric acid creates green flame. etc.

Creamora powdered coffee creamer seems to be the additive of choice for various reenactor units in S.W. Florida. It does make a nice bright muzzle flash. I have no idea what kind of residue is left in the bore.

I use non dairy creamer for my blank charges, 1oz powder 1oz creamer, nice flash as for left over residue about the same as any other time.
