I read the posts on the Pedersoli howdah and read about danger loading the second barrel. If I buy a double, I will make a loading rod from heavy brass rod and bend it to a U shape. Attach the loading jag to the longer end of the U and a handle on the shorter end. Placing the patch and rolling the ball onto the barrel is the only time fingers will be on the barrel.
