This is a drop dead gorgeous rifle. From its .40 browned 42" barrel to its bring tears to your eyes Tiger Maple stock, this rifle is top shelf. The rifle was built by Greg S Murray. Mr. Murry is best known for being commissioned to recreate the only documented rifle connected to David Crockett of Alamo and Tall Tale fame.

Gun was probably only test fired. Bore is pristine. Gun has a few handling marks. Scratch on barrel near touch hole caused by oversized musket flint???
Barrel is .81" LOP is 13 3/8". Drop 4". Slight cast off to right side. Weighs about 9 lbs. Photos say more than I can. $1600 + Shipping.

Howdy, BigSky,
That's a beautiful rifle!
What style of rifle do you think it might be?
I see the curved rear stock with an offcast, like the Northampton/Lehigh rifles, but the rear sight is taller than the N/L's. I'm not sure about the trigger guard. What do you think?
The barrel looks straight, or is it swamped?
Do I see a set trigger?
Thanks,
Brazos

Thanks. Wish I could build these. Like lots of contemporary rifles I suspect it mixes elements from different styles. The TG looks like my VA rifle. Sight probably just a builder preference. Barrel straight. Yes, double set triggers.

That looks to me that the maker followed the Reading School with maybe some Oerter influence on this beautiful rifle.
