It seems the left finally figured it out. You don't cram "big chunks" of gun control down the citizens throats all at once. Baby steps that chip away are getting the job done. Plus someone seems to have figured out that what good are your guns if you can't get ammunition.

I agree. The liberal Demorats are in this for the long haul. They will never let up on the 2ndAmend. IMHO

I am puzzled (not unusual!!!)
I tried to contribute what I thought was a logical response concerning the definition of "B.P. guns" in France and other counties, and the consequences.
I cannot find it. Please advise what I did wrong,
thanks
Jim H.

And they do seem to have momentum going for them. Here in Texas even law-abiding gun owners are now being treated as "not-so-welcome" because of the Uvalde school
shooting.

If you get the opportunity, read Dinesh D' Souza's book 2000 Mules, not all are playing fair!
I have read it. I do not put al ot of stock in it because if it was reliable, vetted & proven, and can be corroborated, it would have been used by Politicians on the right. It wasn't. What does that tell you? It tells me, I can't trust it to be accurate or unbiased.

This is what many on the right do not seem to want to understand. it is as much an "emotional " argument as it is one based on law. When you parade the "bodies of children and the victims families" etc for the cameras, most people forget about any "legal" aspects or technicalities. The Liberals know this, and never waste a tragedy without trying to gain political points from it. IMHO. I have said this many times and I get grief from many over it because they do not want to see reality. They think they can stand up and say "shall not be infringed" and that wipes out the deaths, pain, emotions and biased coverage that will push more people to the left. It is what it is, and Liberals know that perception is reality and perception is on their side. If we experience more "mass shootings" it plays into the liberals agenda and sooner or later public opinion will take over and "shall not be infringed" will turn into , "Shall be Regulated Heavily!" IMHO

Michael Moore lobbied hard to get crime scene images from the Newtown Elementary School massacre released to the public. Why? He said it himself, it would be the end of the NRA.

They won’t stop.

post #170, many on the right refuse to see what is happening around them. I have watched the changes for decades and they are subtle but true. Do you actually think even if Conservatives win in 2024, that the Left will stop the attacks on 2ndAmend rights? I don't.
So, you think that we should get a jump on it and support Karl Marx and study socialism...

Everyone has to be somewhere? It is a firearm forum. I like firearms, always have. This is Not a Republican/Conservative convention. Many people from all walks of life enjoy firearms. I believe in understanding all sides of an issue and that everyone's opinion is important. How about you?
I don't hate democrats -- I hate those who would take my rights. Mostly, that's democrats because their philosophy is bad.

I think that we better take our collective heads out of the sand and understand we have an uphill battle and that one or more "shootings" could cause irreparable harm. We need to work within the system and try to control as much of the process and creation of laws etc., as possible. It is going to happen, with us or without us, and I think i would rather have a seat at the table then have something handed to me that I had no input into. (IMHO) Your Karl Marca statement is what I am talking about. Do you actually think that rhetoric will help us? I don't. It just makes us look ignorant, uneducated, and irrelevant, giving the other side one more reason to ignore us. The mothers of a dead child don't care about such rhetoric. That person is worth more votes than anything we could ever muster, and the Liberals will use it. (IMHO)

I agree. It is not a specific group but members from many different groups that are trying to dismantle the 2nd Amend. I do believe the the Demorat platform is not 2ndAmend friendly, nor do i see that changing.

Maybe. The Mujahideen did really well against big forces, as did the Vietcong.
Yes, since their culture provided them with a leg up in that game. How are you at living in a cave, eating dried goat once a day, wearing the same clothes for weeks, and not having any medical supplies etc. ? Comparing this country to any where else is an act of futility. Americans are used to a specific type of life style that does not match well with prolonged guerilla warfare. IMHO
