Hey everyone
Unfortunately I have misplaced my wooden ramrod for my TC 50 Hawken. I generally use a brass rod at the range so I'm not overly concerned other than the fact the gun looks goofy without one. I plan to turn one out of hardwood but can't remember the size. Does anyone know? I'm guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/4"

I like to take a rod a little bigger than the pipes. Using a knife scrap the rod for about two inches to tightly admit the pipe on the stick. Scrape, slide up rod, about two inches at a time.
Pretty quick with force you can slide your pipe all along the rod.
Now using 150 grit sand paper held in a roll you quickly sand the rod. Rolling it as you shove it in and out of your palm. Just enough to smooth it will now slide east through your pipes.
