    The rum ration had roughly 377 calories.

    Sailor's grog had the same amount of alcohol, but with water added and sugar, so theirs was higher in calories.

    That's four ounces (a gill) of 95 proof rum. ...No telling how much sugar the sailor's used in theirs.....

    And then we have American Naval Grog served to Sailors and Marines during the Revolution, most times it was just water mixed with rum.

    I wonder if Continental Marines who served with Washington's Army got their daily ration of rum? For some reason, I don't think so.....! :eek: :D
