Question from a non builder ,,builder

My stock was pre mortise for lock,,tang,,triggers and butt plate. I can do it but getting lazy , and old eyes.Ive got an issue since it was pre inlet. Had this before but just left it as is.With the barrel set completely in and lock, the drum sets high on side flat.Doesnt bother me long as it shoots.Should I not set the barrel completely down and bed under the barrel in order to lower the drum to be closer to center of side flat

If I understand correctly the barrel is sitting in the channel tweaked a bit counterclockwise.
One of two things.
Work the wood in the channel to correct it or
Work the wood in the channel so the barrel sits low then bed.
Kind of depends on how tweaked it is.
