An early model of the GPR with unembellished lockplate and a 1:48 twist. Percussion, .54cal. fishbelly shaping has been taken in by one of its previous owners. A small knot-hole in the stock. Finish is bluing turning to patina. Aftermarket, period correct rear sight.
A good hunting load for this guy is, 70 grains of 3f goex, with thicker patch .018 .020, lubed with beeswax and olive oil or straight olive oil.

Some reproductions have slightly rounded bottom to the butt stock when viewed from the side. It is often referred to as “fish belly.” I, like the previous owner of this rifle don’t really care for the look and he removed it and straightened the bottom line.
