I frequently get a few grains in the pan from the main charge. If the powder has a lot of fines, it self-primes.
I wasnt in on the 1 in 10 test, but would guess a few drifted over to the pan.

I think I detect a tendency in some comments to assume there is a limit to the heat involved in radiant heat transmission.
