Possible substute for Pyrite

I was surfing the net and was wondering if this could be a good substute for pyrite on a wheellock.

If it is like the other lighter flints I've tried, they only worked for one shot. The main charge blast from the vent burnt out the flints making them useless.

Why don't you just try it???? Put a little shield
between the flint and vent hole to protect it
from the blast....I have great success with them.
but,,,,what do I know???
