Another Portmanteau made from 8/9 Oz. #1 grade tooling leather. Measures 12" in length and 5 1/2" in diameter.
Bag is period correct as can be seen in numerous painting and sketches of the colonial period.
Sewn completely by hand using hand waxed (pure bees wax) 100% Barbour's Linen thread #5. All stitching was conducted using a saddle stitch and the bag was wet sand formed so to ensure it will keep its shape for years to come.
After sewing the bag was dyed, two coats, dark brown and then waxed to help with waterproofing somewhat. Buckles and "O" rings are hand forged iron. Buckles measure 2" by 2 " and the "O" rings measure 1". The "O" rings are to allow the bag to accommodate a carry strap or to facilitate attaching it to a saddle or backpack. Carry strap is attached and can easily be shortened to become a handle. Strap measures 9/16" by 70" with a small buckle for adjustments.
Should there be any further questions please do not hesitate to contact the seller.
Price is $175.00 plus shipping.
Cutfingers, American Mountain Men #1570.
