Took three newhires to the range today for a pre-academy intro. I took my .62 smoothie pistol. They did some basic drills with the village gun, then we trained with the flint. They had a good time and trigger time is trigger time, no matter what the action.

I have a 9" barrel .67 smoothbore flintlock pistol that I load with 40 grains 2F and about an ounce of #5 shot.
At close range it ain't bad.

Let's talk smooth bore pistols. What kind of accuracy do you get with a patched round ball? The shot loads, have you patterned them and would they be suitable for small game? :hmm:
